I previously wrote this topic, today I expand on that with the simpler divorce video below. Below the video I summarize what is discussed to achieve the simpler divorce.
The key highlight of the simple divorce video are that no matter how strongly you and your spouse disagree, it is possible to save time and money by starting with mediation.
Want to save money on your divorce? Then try this process and you and your spouse can each save money on hiring an attorney. Further, as an experienced family law attorney I am familiar with the system and I understand how a Judge will view each case. As a result, I use that knowledge to see both sides of a case and work towards a resolution.
I’ve talked about confidentiality in many of my posts. The same applies here because each party will be in a separate room. Each party will speak directly with me and I in turn convey the message to the other party. In doing this, I allow parties to speak freely because everything is confidential.
In this video, I discuss the documentation needed for mediation. Whether the parties have children also affects the documentation needed. I discuss the different types of property to also consider.
Nearly every Court in Texas requires mediation in divorce cases. With 95-98 percent of cases resolve in mediation it makes sense how this process could be less costly. As a result, the simpler divorce saves you each the fees hiring an attorney and you get your issues resolved up front. On the off chance you fall into that 3-5 percent that do not settle, then you have already met the mediation requirement.
I inform you about how to get the final paperwork drafted for Court.
