You may have heard that Texas is now allowing same-sex couples to list both name of the couple on the birth certificates of their children in certain circumstances. If you want an amended birth certificate based on an adoption, contact the attorney that handled your adoption to find out if the VS160 was filed. If so, you should be able to submit a request online at Texas Vital Records to get a new birth certificate.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services website, they are still working out the details for how to request an amended birth certificate for both an adoption and based on marriage. I will post more details once I have additional information.
