Several people are calling asking about whether the Stay At Home Orders issued in their various counties affect parenting time under current orders. The short answer is no it does not affect parenting time. If you are supposed to have time with your children then you get time with your children. If it is the other parent’s time then you let that parent have their time with the child.
So far, in the counties I have heard about, no one said do NOT go outside. In fact, in Harris County, they specifically said to go outside and that even parks are open, just not the benches and playground equipment. So if you can go outside, then you can exchange children. Your children are probably just as stressed and worried about this as you are. Maintaining some sense of normalcy will help ease their worries.
Having said this, use some common sense. Abide by the orders that have been issued. Do not go out in groups. Limit your in person interactions. Wash your hands and encourage your children to do the same.
